True, but a Golden Lady Liberty is a nice thing to look at compared to me looking at myself in the mirror. Shocked

Gold is at a bargain price if you have the fiat to spare.

I am a small fry, and only buy 1/10 eagles. But I have been buying steadily every month sense I got the new job. Just don't have the fiat to go big, which is fine. I did a 6 month review of my 401, and made some changes there also.

What ever, if you are thinking of pulling the trigger. Wait till after I buy. It always drops in price when I purchase.

Daffy I have a brother in law who began buying one gold coin each month thirty plus years ago as a portion of his retirement plan. Not something he talks about and I have never seen his stash he just mentioned it once then left it alone. After that many years even if all his coins are small he has amassed a nice stash. Chances are if prices continue to decline you may find you can stretch and begin getting a quarter once eagle once in a while.

As a newbie I'm reading gold is out of fashion like flared trousers and to take to $986 by January according to Debarati Roy and Eddie Van Der Walt via Bloomberg.

As Stacker so eloquently put it "gold is pretty."

The price of gold and silver is down due to vast amounts of ETFs "paper metals" being sold off to free up funds for the purchase of the real thing.

A team of U.S. regulators probing contamination at a Colorado gold mine accidentally released a million gallons (3.8 million liters) of orange-hued waste water containing sediment and metals into a local river system, the Environmental Protection Agency said on Thursday.

EPA has updated their estaminet of the released pollutants to three million gallons.
