A few weeks ago I picked up 3 Philharmonics 1 oz., never seen one at the LCS and I might say, nice looking coin.

That "heck of it" guy is lucky to have you buying silver and giving it to him. tongue

Four more ounces that will one day (we hope) be worth 10 times what you paid for it. Nice.

I would not be a buyer of 40% at above melt, unless I had a buyer willing to pay more. Not enough people in my area know about 40%.

I like fractional silver too. I give it away as gifts. Check out this 1/10 ozt round from Monarch Mint.

unsure. Probably a couple of reasons, 1) fabrication costs are probably higher and 2) people pay it.

i would say fabrication cost is equal .. handling cost is equal .. people will pay for it .. i think it boils down to "volume" .. as the volume increases .. the price spread decreases .. JMHO

Could be true.

Silver now below $15, sure makes it hard to stay on the sidelines. I want to buy some gold but silver is to tempting. Decisions.

Same here Andy.

Given the GSR, silver is the better buy. But I really need some gold.

Nevermind.

I have a few oz. of gold and sure do want more, I feel in the long run it’s going to help me more and that is my end game. Do I spend approx $XXX for silver or do I buy another 1/10 - 1/4 GAE or CML? Everyone has silver. But gold?

I'm in the same boat as Andy and Nevermind. I don't need more gold but I want more gold. Probably stick with adding to my silver cache though until the GSR is more favorable for gold purchases.

Gold/Silver Ratio

Basically how many ounces of silver to equal the value of one ounce of gold.

Hey Andy, I've got quite a few of them, most of them the "P" collector version from the Mint. I've got a subscription and the Mint sends me the new ones as they come out. For a while that was the cheapest way to get the collector versions because you got a discount. The Mint has now done away with the discount, and I'm considering cancelling my subscription. Have you seen the 2016 ATB designs yet? I like the Shawnee and Harper's Ferry designs, not too crazy for the others.

I guess the cheapest way now is to start buying the P’s from the mint or get lucky and stumble across one here and there.
