1959 D penny, maybe top end $60 find sitting in the rolled up disgusting carpet I removed from the paradise trailer last March. I use the old carpet as a permeable ground cover blocking undesirable growth.

On Monday the daughter pulled a 1952 SILVER QUARTER out of the Coin Star. Finally, we got silver. Wonder how many more went into the machine.

The best find I ever got from a bank was when I walked into my local bank and asked if they had any half dollars that I could buy. I was able to buy $5 . However, the cashier said that she had another one if I was interested in it. I told them yew, but they refused to sell it to me but would give me for free. I asked why they would give me the coin, and they replied that it was not anywhere on their books. I said that I would be glad to take it off their hands. They handed it to me and then said they had some unusual two dollar bills that they'd exchange for my money. The end result was:

1: The $5 halves were all spenders that I didn't need.
2: The absolutely free half dollar was a 66s (40%)
3. The 10 $2 bills were in sequence and were all * notes in crisp uncirculated condition that I put in a heavy duty envelope and are still residing in my hidey hole. I figure they are worth $5 each (more if I decide to sell them as a set).

The gods were with me that day.

I have returned to this bank many times but my other finds there included red seal $2 bills, some old style bills (before the monopoly bills took over), a few silver certificates, and a $10 gold certificate.

I got that bill when I cashed a check and requested some $10. The teller paused in her counting, and then continued to finish and passed the bills over to me. She said that there was a bill in there that she would buy from me. I counted the bills as usual and saw what she was referring to. I wouldn't sell it but gave her a tip to show here my appreciation.

I have found many things there. Mums the word
